Push it past it's extreme
I snagged a Whoop at the end of last year. I wanted to sleep better and I thought the mass of data would assist in learning more and setting myself up for success.
What happened is different. The brain is a little child. Hack it. I used to spring up and let my brain decide when I was done sleeping. Now it try to stay sleeping as long as possible 😉 and check my score.
I used to think that you’d get by with whatever sleep you got. Just deal with it. Don’t complain. Don’t count hours - that’s dumb. This is a habit I formed in College. Now I’m tracking heart rate and exhaustion, exertion and variability, as well as the percent sleeping in deep sleep vs not as well as if I drank enough water the day before and how much I worked out. The trends are… woah… after a few months.
This has me thinking… maybe things are not what they seem until they are pushed as far as they can be pushed? Push further… and then keep pushing. A thing that seems dumb initially can be brilliant if it’s pushed to the extreme. So… keep pushing.
